Our firm’s story began when attorney Jack Schulz opened Michigan Worker Law, focusing his practice on employment litigation, labor negotiations, and representing truck drivers. Meanwhile, attorney Amanda Ghannam focused on employment harassment and discrimination, and seeking justice for survivors of sexual abuse. Jack and Amanda first joined forces in 2020 amidst nationwide Black Lives Matter demonstrations to bring a police misconduct lawsuit against the City of Detroit Police Department. They won an unprecedented restraining order and injunction prohibiting Detroit police from assaulting and arresting peaceful demonstrators, and the case resolved with a judgment of over $1,000,000 for their clients.

As of 2024, Michigan Worker Law, or Schulz Ghannam PLLC, has grown and evolved to include both attorneys’ commitment to defending not only workers’ rights, but the rights of all individuals experiencing injustice. We believe that every employee deserves equal access to a safe, fair, and equitable workplace; that every person must be treated equally under the law; that survivors of sexual abuse deserve accountability and healing; and that building collective power among workers is key to progress.
